Okanagan Association of Classical Music Enthusiasts

The Okanagan Association of Classic Music Enthusiasts (OACME) was incorporated in 2017 by a core group of people dedicated to bringing the annual Vernon Proms Classical Music Festival to the Okanagan. The Vernon Proms, an annual multi-week classical music festival held in July, features performances by local, provincial, national and international artists. Programming includes high quality chamber music concerts, workshops, opera productions, a youth Summer Arts camp, and outdoor concerts. More than half of the events are free to the public. The festival runs at multiple Vernon venues, with featured concerts also presented in Kelowna.

Another OACME project is Early Music Okanagan (EMO). EMO incorporates professional and amateur musicians who enjoy playing early music and sharing their love of it with the community. EMO produces a series of Early Music concerts – Baroque and Renaissance – played on period instruments with performances in the Okanagan and beyond.
