Alex Cuba – SPOTLIGHT’s FOCUS OnSTAGE Concert Series

Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre 3800 - 33rd Street, Vernon, British Columbia, Canada

Alex Cuba performs Saturday, October 16th at 5:30pm and 8pm. His “sugarcane-sweet melodies, pop-soul hooks and powerful guitar riffs, relinquish a conventional stereotype that exemplifies much of the Latin music landscape”. Though raised in Artemisa, an hour outside of Havana, Alex Cuba’s artistry is as far-flung as the place he has settled and lived for over fifteen years: Smithers, BC. His music at once incorporates his roots and is a unique amalgam of styles, having collaborated with artists ranging from Jason Mraz to Ron Sexsmith and Nelly Furtado; and bringing together melodies, pop soul hooks and rock chords in songs that may seem to bear little resemblance to traditional Cuban form. Art After Dark

Vernon Public Art Gallery 3228 31st Avenue, Vernon, British Columbia, Canada

On Friday, October 22nd, 2021, the Vernon Public Art Gallery will be hosting their annual Art After Dark event - a soiree-style party designed to cultivate those looking for a unique night on the town.
