BODIES OF WATER is a 2-dimensional installation that uses a series of cyanotypes, an alternative process in photography, that are displayed with multi-channel sound to create a collective audio ambiance in the gallery. The show runs from September 7 to October 2, with an opening reception to be held on September 9th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Regular gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 4:00pm.

The Vernon Community Arts Centre presents "Awakening the Spirit Art Show and Sale:".  Organized by the Canadian Mental Health Association, this exhibit is a celebration of the creative talents of people living with mental illness. It is a place for artists with lived experience with mental illness to showcase their work and it is a significant opportunity to educate the public about the lives, creativity, and abilities of individuals in our community who are affected by this often-stigmatized illness. This is the perfect way to spend some time with friends and learn  step-by-step how to to complete an 11×14” painting in one evening. Bring your paint clothes or an apron and have fun!  Participants must be 19 years or older.

Cost: $40 - includes all materials and your beverage

His sound encompasses many influences: Lyle Mayes (Pat Metheny Group), Oscar Peterson, Bruce Hornsby, Keith Jarrett, Duke Ellington, and Count Basie.
