Flux looks at the impressions that people create on the landscape through the lens of water, erosion, and shifts in the environment and features printed fabric panels accompanied by sound elements from the Alberta watershed. Exhibition runs from July 23 until Sept. 30.

Finding Joy – Art Exhibit

The show is all about what awakens people’s joy, laughter, happiness, and sense of whimsy. Life during a world pandemic has been challenging for many of us, and finding joy has been more important than ever. We hope you are finding things to spark joy in your own life, and we welcome you to visit our Arts Centre to see how local artists expressed their own sense of joy.
Gallery hours are Mon-Wed, 9:30am-9:00pm and Thurs-Sat, 9:30-4:30. Find us in the heart of Polson Park next to the Science Centre!
There is no cost for admission, however donations are welcomed.
puti kʷala – we are still here
Join syilx artist Sheldon Pierre Louis for a talk about his artistic practice and his work, puti kʷala – we are still here, currently on display at the Kelowna Art Gallery's satellite space at the Kelowna International Airport. Sheldon Pierre Louis is a member of the syilx Nation, a Councillor at Okanagan Indian Band, a director for the Arts Council of the North Okanagan, and a community leader whose work is influenced by his ancestral roots. He mentors youth from his own and surrounding communities and takes joy in the mutual inspiration fostered through these collaborations.
The virtual talk will be held on Tuesday, September 1, from 12 to 1 pm. It will be broadcast live online as part of the ongoing LunchBox Lectures, which is a partnership between the Kelowna Art Gallery, Sncəwips Heritage Museum, and Kelowna Museums. This event is free and open to the public to attend.

Kibbles and Bytes
Gallery Vertigo 2901 - 30 Avenue, Vernon, British Columbia, CanadaKibbles and Bytes is a collection of work by Melissa M. Merrill, without the boundaries of traditional and representational painting. In these pieces, Melissa explores media, memories and movement, with each piece speaking to who Melissa Merrill is, who she was, and her growth as an artist as she reaches into 'serious silliness'. This exhibition features seven large bodies of work, with each piece consisting of mixed media on stretched canvas. Gallery Vertigo will host an opening reception on September 3, 2020 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
