Lynette Stebner

Lynette began to draw at an early age on any surface available, including walls. She was influenced by the photography and painting of her maternal grandfather, great aunt and father. Her first camera was her grandfather’s medium format camera; she later inherited his oil paints and brushes.

Born in Kamloops, she received her Fine Arts Diploma at Okanagan College, Kelowna, and Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Victoria. Lynette utilizes a limited palette of transparent colours with glazing techniques to make her subject glow. She typically works from her own photographs in an impressionistic realism style. Her preferred mediums are acrylics and photography, and more recently she is exploring watercolour, ink and soft pastel.

She has exhibited locally at the Vernon Community Arts Centre, Vernon’s Gallery Vertigo, Lake Country Public Art Gallery, Kelowna Public Art Gallery, and Penticton Art Gallery. Her paintings are in private collections across Canada.
