Laine lowe
Laine Lowe lives and creates art in her studio in Lake Country British Columbia. Her art practice includes mixed medium, acrylics, and alcohol inks. She uses bright colors, light, reflection, and texture to express joy and serenity. Laine creates realistic, semi-realistic and abstract pieces. Her work celebrates nature, beauty, and connection.
Laine developed the love of drawing as a young girl and continued that love through her school years. As part of her post-secondary training in 1989 and 1990 she took art classes in drawing, sculpture, and printmaking at the University of Alberta. In the 90’s Laine continued her studies through the University of Alberta Extension, Fine Art Program.
Laine has been fortunate to be able to continue to develop as an artist. She has taken workshops in drawing, painting, printmaking, paint pouring and color theory through the Rotary Centre for the Arts in Kelowna, Kelowna Art Gallery, Lake Country Art Gallery and in private artist’s studios. She teaches workshops in her studio and at local wineries. Workshops include alcohol inks, mixed media collage and paint pouring.
Laine has shown her work at the Lake Country Art Gallery, Art Walk, The Vernon Community Art Centre and at various art shows or events in the Okanagan. Laine is a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and Carr’s Landing Art Group. Each year she participates in the Carr’s Landing Art Tour.
