kathryn ross

Kathryn paints mainly in oil but also works in acrylic, and pen & ink. Her work reflects her passions and lets her express her love of animals and nature. Her goal is to capture the essence of earth’s beauty in wildlife and nature and express them in a beautiful juxtaposition of light and shadows. The focus of her recent work has been largely wildlife, birds, close up florals and figurative studies.

Kathryn has been involved in creating art since a young age, utilizing a vast array of materials and mediums over the years. She even had her own business designing and manufacturing metal art for the home & garden for ten years. She adores her rural home in Coldstream where her family, pets, fruit trees, and large flower garden keep her fit and motivated.

Her inspiration comes from her love of birds, wildlife, garden and especially her horses, Santos and Arrow, and the places they ride together. Her many interests include travel, gardening, and hiking with her dog, Jazz, where she always has her camera handy! Kathryn is an active member of the North and South Okanagan Chapters of the Federation of Canadian Artists and the Okanagan Artists of Canada Society.
