Carmen Laferriere

Carmen Laferrière’s love of fibers originates from when she was a little girl living on a farm in rural Québec.

Her work is highly intuitive, organic and metaphorical. Her inspiration comes from the colours and textures of the natural world as well as the inner world of feelings and memories. She relishes in the slow process of working and transforming wool into art pieces.

Carmen’s work has been published and exhibited in the Felt::feutre Canada Shrine and Migration Canadian Contemporary Felt exhibition in Nova-Scotia, at the Craft Council of BC in Vancouver and at the Shatford Centre for the Arts in Penticton. She participated in various exhibits at Gallery Vertigo, Vernon Community Art Centre in Vernon and at the Lake Country Art Walk.

One can find Carmen’s unique felted accessories at the Kelowna International Airport kiosk.
