Where do the things in the collection of your local museum come from? Who donated, collected or purchased the artefacts – and were they all acquired in ethical ways? Who decides what is ethical, what is true, what is real, & what is history? Whose stories are told & whose are silenced or ignored? We’ll explore some of these questions by looking at artefacts from the Vernon Museum Collection. Over the course of the evening, you’ll be invited to engage in conversations about the mysteries and mistruths of artefact collecting, and you’ll also be invited to play a rousing round of Artefact or Artefiction!
