Join us for a Speaker Series co-hosted by the Museum & Archives of Vernon and the Okanagan Historical Society.

Chad Soon, a local teacher and fourth-generation Chinese Canadian, will be our guest speaker. Recognized by the Vancouver Canucks as a foremost historian on Larry Kwong, Chad is uniquely positioned to shed light on the life of this iconic Vernon man who made history as the first Asian NHL player.

During his presentation, Chad will delve into Kwong’s life and enduring impact, with a special emphasis on his experiences of growing up in Vernon during the 1920s and 30s. Copies of Chad’s co-authored book on Kwong, “The Longest Shot,” will be available for purchase at the event. Light refreshments will also be provided.
