Holiday Rock & Gem Market
The Vernon Museum will host the Vernon Lapidary and Mineral Club’s Holiday Rock & Gem Market on Saturday, December 11, from 10 AM to 3 PM.
Formed in 1959, the club has a long and vibrant history in the North Okanagan, and has hosted workshops, educational and social events for generations of “rock hounds” and “pebble pups.” The club was formed to share knowledge and encourage the collection and study of gemstones and minerals and to learn more about the historical and geological conditions within BC. Field trips around the North Okanagan and further afield encourage the ethical exploration of rocks and minerals. With constantly shifting landscape and geological conditions, members of the club continue to locate historical geological formations and learn more about the formation of our landscape over time.
Come learn about the club, see some rare and unique finds and hand-crafted creations available for purchase. You may find a holiday gem!
Open to the public, all ages, admission by donation, masks required, free downtown parking on Saturdays in December.
The Vernon Museum is located at 3009 32nd Avenue. For more information about the Vernon Lapidary and Mineral Club visit www.vlmc.rocks or https://www.facebook.com/groups/vernonlapidary/.
