Gallery Vertigo hosts its July art exhibition, Elemental Change, a collaborative series between Gloria S. Daly and Lesley Comassar.

A concession to the chaos happening to planet Earth, the works are based on the 4 Elements: Earth, Water, Air, and Fire and the 5th Element, Aether or Spirit, which suggests Infinity, Pure Energy and Unlimited Potential, the unifying force in all things.

The artists’ combined focus is on excellence in working with fibre. As contemporary textile artists they can capture the essence of this most talked about topic in today’s world, Global Warming. In 2022 they were honoured to show their work with local members of Gallery Vertigo in the Sunflower Skirt Project.

Gloria Daly is a contemporary surface design hand stitcher, her work is primarily executed by hand mark-making embroidery whereas Lesley Comassar works extensively with the sewing machine. This unique combination of skills offers the viewers a large colourful and comprehensive overview of artistic interpretation. Each artist will work with all the elements expressing her own discipline.

Work by Vertigo member Judy Hamilton is also on the Featured Member Art Exhibition Wall for July.

An opening reception for all exhibitions will be held on Thursday, July 4, 2024 from 6 – 8 PM. Light refreshments will be offered.

Regular hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
