The Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre Society proudly presents Ballet Jorgen Canada’s Romeo & Juliet on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 7:30pm at the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre as part of the 2021/22 SPOTLIGHT Special Presentation Series.

Shakespeare’s tale of love, anguish, family feuds and revenge is told through dance when Ballet Jörgen comes to the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre. “For never was a story of more woe than this of Juliet and her Romeo.”

This proudly Canadian ballet company presents an emotionally driven interpretation of the tragic story of Romeo and Juliet, set to Prokofiev’s classic score. Experience the romance and tragedy from the moment Juliet first sees Romeo and can’t take her eyes off him; until the ill-fated final scene when she at once knows her lover is dead yet still tries to wake him up with her kiss to fend off the inevitable.
