Art Through Isolation
The Arts Council of the Okanagan, and the Vernon Community Arts Centre present their latest member’s exhibit “Art Through Isolation”
When Covid-19 was announced a world pandemic, months of isolation began and creative pursuits became a life line for many. Some people began to watch concerts or visit museums on line, while many started to paint, sculpt, journal, sketch, take photos, remodel living spaces and engage in a variety of artistic endeavors.
As our city starts to open up, we invited our members to submit some of the pieces they created during this time. We’re very excited to see what people bring in, and we’re also excited to see people in our Centre Gallery once again. We won’t be hosting an opening reception but the show will remain up for three weeks so people can come in at their leisure, and peruse the art and the stories in a safe environment where social distancing measures have been put in place.
