Alex Cuba performs Saturday, October 16^th at 5:30pm and 8pm. His “sugarcane-sweet melodies, pop-soul hooks and powerful guitar riffs, relinquish a conventional stereotype that exemplifies much of the Latin music landscape”. Though raised in Artemisa, an hour outside of Havana, Alex Cuba’s artistry is as far-flung as the place he has settled and lived for over fifteen years: Smithers, BC. His music at once incorporates his roots and is a unique amalgam of styles, having collaborated with artists ranging from Jason Mraz to Ron Sexsmith and Nelly Furtado; and bringing together melodies, pop soul hooks and rock chords in songs that may seem to bear little resemblance to traditional Cuban form.

The VDPAC’S increasingly popular OnSTAGE Concert format makes for a more intimate experience for its patrons while in keeping with COVID-19 health and safety precautions. To ensure patrons are seated with their own cohort groups, tables are sold online in advance for groups of 2, 4 and 6 persons. Vaccination passports will be required at the door. VDPAC’s Bar and Concession services are also available once again for the added enjoyment of patrons.
