Since her performance debut at the tender age of seven, Soprano Alexa Hildebrandt has loved singing in front of her church in Abbotsford, BC. Determined to be the next pop singing sensation, Alexa dedicated her time to singing. This journey was rerouted from a love of pop ballads to a fascination with arias and art songs. Alexa studied vocal performance at Kwantlen Polytechnic University with mezzo-soprano Gail Suderman and with soprano Monica Huisman at the University of Manitoba. Since returning to the Okanagan, Alexa was delighted to work as an associate conductor for Candesca, a local singing group she was a part of in her early 20s. Alexa has recently studied with sopranos Alexandra Babbel and Ana Toumine and sings in the Okanagan whenever possible. Alexa recently completed her Master’s in Professional Communications from Royal Roads University. In her spare time she enjoys exploring the Okanagan Valley with her dog, Loki.

Haley Porter‘s love of singing developed at a young age, singing in church and the car with her family harmonizing with The Beach Boys. This love of music continued to grow when her family moved to Vernon and she joined Elizabeth Scott’s youth choir and studied privately with Mrs. Scott. Musical Theatre became her focus in high school and she quickly realized how at home she felt on stage. While working as a trained makeup artist, Haley began voice lessons with Soprano Alexandra Babbel and was a member of Babbel’s touring vocal ensemble, Candesca. These experiences ignited Haley’s passion for Classical music and Opera which eventually led her to be a Board Director for Opera Kelowna and also complete a term as Board President. Haley joined the Opera Kelowna chorus for productions including Marriage of Figaro, La Boheme, Carmen and Imant Raminsh’s Lake of Tears. Most recently studying with Soprano Ana Toumine, Haley performs Sidewalk Serenades throughout the community. In December, she joined the Okanagan Festival Singers for their performance of Handels Messiah and in April, was a guest soloist for the Aura Chamber Choir performance of Brahms Liebesliederwalzer Op.52. She resides in Coldstream with her husband and two young sons.

Whether teaching, singing, dancing or playing, Teresa McKnight finds the most joy in music when collaborating with others. She considers music’s power to transport listeners anywhere as a gift to be shared. Teresa began accompanying in middle school for church congregations, school choirs, solo voice and instrumental.  Not one to enjoy the spotlight of solo performance, the challenge of working with other musicians and vocalists to create beauty with music has become an ideal platform on which she continues to learn and hone her skill. Most recently, Teresa enjoyed being Counterpoint Choir’s accompanist for the last seven years.  Teresa has loved the diversity of having called Alberta, Scotland, Australia and the Okanagan home. Marriage and motherhood have created a rich life for Teresa, where her love of music weaves through—often creating a beautiful soundtrack for life’s many adventures.
