The Mike Allen's Montreal Reunion Band is a captivating jazz ensemble that effortlessly transports audiences to the heart of Montreal's vibrant music scene.

Mike Allen is a tremendously gifted and prolific jazz artist who resides in Vancouver. The tenor saxophonist is nothing shy of legendary on the Canadian jazz scene. Steve Kaldestad moved to Vancouver in 2008 and has become one of the most in-demand saxophonists on the scene. Steve has released 3 CDs on the Cellar Live label to great acclaim including Straight Up featuring the Mike LeDonne Trio and the newest release, New York Afternoon with the Renee Rosnes Trio. Mike Rud is a Juno award-winning jazz guitarist and songwriter.   Mike will be on our stage with his trio on October 28th. Another “not to miss” performance from this guitar master. The rhythm section for this powerhouse quintet is made up of; Dave Robbins, who is one of Canada’s premier jazz drummers and a first-rate composer, arranger and jazz educator and Steve Holy on bass whose expertise and chops makes him an in-demand artist.

The Mike Rud Trio is a celebration of some of the finest musicians living right next door in Nelson, BC!

Mike Rud is a Juno award-winning jazz guitarist and songwriter. As an instrumentalist, Mike has played alongside some of the greatest jazz musicians of the era like Peter Bernstein, Kenny Wheeler, Herb Ellis and Joey De Francesco. As a songwriter and arranger, Mike won the 2014 Juno Award for his album Notes on Montreal.

Rob Fahie has been performing professionally since he was 16 years old. During his career, he has performed at prestigious jazz clubs and premiere concert halls throughout the world including The Blue Note and Carnegie Hall.

Doug Stephenson is no stranger to the VJC. He is in demand to play bass with some of our most entertaining acts from the last several years. Doug has been at the heart of Western Canada’s jazz community for more than 30 years.
