Wonderful Woodblocks Talk
Vernon Community Arts Centre 2704A Highway 6, Vernon, British Columbia, CanadaLearn about the art of Japanese printmaking from a fan of woodblock printing. Adrian will share some of his favourite prints and some history during a 30-minute art talk. Mainly focusing on works from Japan, he will touch on the well-known Ukiyo (which includes Hokusai and Hiroshige), but dive deeper into the 20th century Shin Hanga, Sosaku Hanga, & Meiji eras. Adrian will close the talk with a view of some of the woodblock prints from Vienna of the same time. What he lacks in academic art knowledge is made up in enthusiasm. A fun and fact filled evening, come on down!

Artist Talk – Jam’s Practice & the Creative Journey
Vernon Community Arts Centre 2704A Highway 6, Vernon, British Columbia, CanadaJoin us for an artist talk with Jam, and learn about their creative journey.
Driven by a search for moments of reflection and emotional release, Jam’s studio work features a ritualistic use of a spiral motif as the grounding point for various material explorations. Flowing between 2D and 3D forms of making, they are interested in embodying themes of organic growth and connection while also exploring the dualistic qualities of fragility and strength that are often present in their work.
Drop into the Vernon Community Arts Centre on Monday, October 4th, from 6:30-8:30. No registration required.
