The title, “Rock, Paper, Scissors” is a play on words referencing the work of both artists. “Rock” reflects the theme of Elijah’s recent work, featuring the likenesses of famous rock musicians, while “Paper” and “Scissors” refer to Jessica’s cut paper collage work.”

“Studio B is Elijah Robertson and Jessica Durham, who share Studio B at Vertigo Gallery. Jessica currently works mostly in collage and clay, while Elijah is a painter working in acrylics with the use of mixed media and airbrush techniques. Their creative collaboration came into being against the background of global catastrophe, fostered in isolation. Ideas simmered together in an unconventional percolation brought forth a potent brew of pop culture and collage, steeped in historical and contemporary imagery. The project comes together in a confluence of passion for music, history, and straight-up silliness. An unbridled use of medium and materials create a truly unique viewing experience.
