Devon Mulhert
Devon L. Muhlert is a cross-disciplinary artist, writer, and award-winning photo-journalist. She has had 3 local gallery shows of mixed media, painting and photography. Her first book was Cadence of Colour: Sveva Caetani and her Mothers, which is about a painter who left her property to the City of Vernon for an artist’s enclave (Currently available for sale the Vernon Community Arts Centre.)
Musician, music director, and composer, Devon taught privately at the Caetani Cultural Centre for a decade and has performed many concerts and fundraisers over the years. She now teaches accoustic guitar, classical guitar, and flute from her home studio.
Devon’s artistic endeavours show her commitment to creative self-expression for everyone, having taught classes in creativity and writing. She sees the arts as conducive to healing, to which end she earned a diploma in healing music as a Certified Music Practitioner (CMP). She made creativity accessible by offering ‘Music Meditations with a Twist’ to groups such as Hospice, and founding a singing group called Bashful Balladeers, for adults who had been told as children that they couldn’t sing.
Devon loves being part of the ACNO because arts and culture generate a strong community network to which she is delighted to belong. “Something is always happening in the vibrant community of the ACNO”.
