Mark Bovey – OPT Artist Talk

FreeThe Vernon Public Art Gallery invites you to an Artist Talk with Mark Bovey at 7:00 PM PST!
Mark Bovey is an artist and Associate Professor in the Printmaking Area at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax Nova Scotia. He received his BFA from Queen’s University in Ontario In 1989, and then his MVA in Printmaking from the University of Alberta in 1992. His work has represented Canada internationally in juried biennial and triennial exhibitions in 18 nations worldwide. He has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions across Canada including 15 curatorial projects. His practice ranges from traditional printmaking to print installation works incorporating inkjet and digital video projections. His work on display in the Okanagan Print Triennial is from the series Movements Within and Between, which explores our human imperative to understand the natural world by extending perception through scientific invention made possible by telescopes, electron microscopes and the human imagination. Every week on Tuesday and/or Thursday at 7:00 PM PST during the OPT exhibition from March 18th – May 19th the VPAG will be hosting live artist talks with a select number of artists who will be exhibiting in the OPT 2021. Join us via zoom for a short 30-minute talk to hear from the artists about their current printmaking work, processes and inspiration. The artists will be joining us from their home countries from around the world. There will be a short question period at the end of each talk.
