THE GRAND HOUSE OF PHOTOGRAPHY

Gary Sumner and Dawn Mace opened the Grand House of Photography in April 2022, bringing the fine art of photography into focus in downtown Vernon.

With over 2,000 square feet of space, it is the only one of its kind in Western Canada, boasting a nostalgic fine art photography gallery, a coffee bar, and a display of more than 100 antique cameras. Fine art photography exhibits change monthly, with prints created by local photographers available for purchase. Photography classes,  mentoring over a cappuccino, and complimentary software for beginners is also available to local photo enthusiasts.

Sumner started his photography career more than 40 years ago as a freelancer for classic rock bands like The Rolling Stones, Queen, Kiss, and Elton John. He now specializes in landscape and wildlife photography. Based in the North Okanagan, Mace has been a photographer for more than 10 years and specializes in boudoir photography.

The space is conveniently located next to Gallery Vertigo, offering visitors a chance to visit both Vernon art galleries with ease.
