The Vernon Folk Roots Music Society is kicking off its 5th season on September 21 with the Shari Ulrich Trio at the Powerhouse Theatre. Shari is a two-time Juno award winner and member of the B.C. Entertainment Hall of Fame. She’s been a touring/recording artist for over 45 years and has recorded 25 albums. She is touring with her daughter Julia Graff (on violin, mandolin, guitar, accordion & vocals) and fellow High Bar Gang member Kirby Barber (on bass, guitar and vocals).  Originally a California girl, Shari’s 40 year career from Pied Pumkin, through The Hometown Band, and on as a solo artist and multi-instrumentalist has led to 23 albums including her collaboration with UHF Bill Henderson and Roy Forbes in (UHF), Barney Bentall & Tom Taylor (BTU), and The High Bar Gang, a 7 piece bluegrass band with Barney Bentall & Colin Nairne. Her work has garnered 2 Juno awards, an induction into the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame, and a 2014 CFMA for English Songwriter of the Year. The doors open at 7:00pm and the show begins at 7:30.
