North Okanagan Carvers Society Meeting @ Vernon Community Arts Centre | Vernon | British Columbia | Canada

The North Okanagan Carvers Society meets every Tuesday from the first Tuesday in October and most Tuesdays till the end of April from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Membership is $35.00 per year. It is a working club, where members share ideas and help one another, with loaner knives, chisels, grinders, wood burners and instruction books for members to borrow until they decide what type of carving they want to do. New members can receive help in learning and perfecting many techniques, such as carving in the round, chip carving, cottonwood carving, relief carving and more. The Society also has a band saw and planer, and members who can cut blanks for the beginner. Members keep each other updated on upcoming shows, sales, and carving competitions in and around B.C. Anyone with an interest in woodcarving is encouraged to drop in and see what the Carvers Society members are doing, and even try carving for a couple of days before joining!
